EXPERTS WHO SWEAR BY KOOL ‘N FIT
|
 |
DANE
FARRELL is Derby County’s team fitness coach. He writes:
“After early scepticism, a few of our players agreed to try the
sport conditioner over a three-week period. Needless to say, the trial
proved very successful. The players felt both the benefits and effectiveness
of using the spray, particularly on tired limbs before and after training.
“The players have since asked myself and medical team staff to
have both the sport conditioner and pain reliever spray available on
match days and is now widely used throughout the Derby County team –
pre and post match and at half-time.”

PROFESSOR
SARAH SPRINGMAN (GB rower and triathlete). Thirteen Cambridge
blues and half blues in athletics, cross country, swimming, squash,
tennis and lacrosse; national triathlon champion 11 times, GB triathlon
team 1984-93, European triathlon champion three times, European triathlon
team champion five times, South Pacific squash champion, GB World Cup
rowing team 1997, 1999 world masters Ergometer champion.
Sarah says that Kool 'n Fit sport conditioner "helps elimination
of the oedema and muscle soreness that arise from intense training.
The combination of massage and Kool 'n Fit is unbeatable and would give
a winning edge to sports people of all ages. I chose to use it in my
assault on the women's (40-49 years) title at the World Masters Ergometer
Championships in Boston, 1999, to aid recovery from jetlag, preparation
for and recovery from the event". (In the final, Sarah met and
beat the defending champion).
Sarah also won 4 golds last year and 3 this year in the World Masters
Championships in her boat.

FARRAGE (AST, MIPTI) is a sports therapist specialising in acute
and chronic muscular injuries, biomechanical problems, advanced injury
prevention and performance enhancement at his Sports Care clinic in Jesmond,
Newcastle. He writes: Over the past few years I have researched and experimented
with many products that claim similar results as Kool 'n Fit, but do not
live up to these claims. However, Kool 'n Fit achieves success beyond
its claims, with fantastic results.
I have been using the conditioning fluid and pain relieving spray over
a period of months and the effects and benefits have been immense. As
well as using the products as recommended, I have also experimented
with the combinations and situations. I have found the more diverse
the applications, the more amazing the effects are. I have used the
product for acute and chronic muscle injuries, as well as using it on
areas that have not been injured but are hypertonic due to muscle imbalance.
My clients are also delighted with the effect of Kool 'n Fit. They are
continually asking "What is this stuff? It’s amazing"
and "This makes me feel great. Where can I get some?"
The conditioning fluid and pain relieving spray can be used at a basic
level, by just spraying them on to the areas as required, and achieves
excellent results. However, when the products are used for advanced
soft-tissue manipulation the results are even more amazing. I have been
able to enhance the effect of Kool 'n Fit by applying them in different
ways and different situations. The products also enhance the work that
I perform, whether it is specific stretching or advanced manipulation
of muscles. I feel the only limitations of the products are the therapist's
imagination and knowledge.
An example of the Kool 'n Fit is when I was asked to help out at a
semi-pro football club on the day of an important match. One of the
team's most influential players was kicked in the calf muscle 10 minutes
before half time. The player was struggling to play on and the muscle
was continually going into cramp. The manager was convinced the player
would not play the second half. At half time the player was examined
and it was decided there was no major damage to the muscle. I applied
the pain relieving spray all over the calf area and then pulled up the
player's sock and poured the conditioning fluid on to the back of the
sock. This had the effect of giving a more prolonged supply of conditioning
fluid. The effect of this was amazing. The player not only played the
full second half, he actually forgot he had the problem and has been
fine ever since.
Another example of Kool 'n Fit is when I need to work into deep muscles,
when manipulating respiratory muscles for example, as these muscles
are difficult to manipulate effectively. The Kool 'n Fit sprays prevent
the superficial muscles from being over traumatised by relaxing them
quickly and effectively. The Kool 'n Fit then allows more effective
treatments of the deep muscles by increasing the circulation, which
then facilitates stretching.
Examples of the Kool 'n Fit combinations I have used are, spraying
50/50 conditioning fluid and pain relieving fluid on to the client's
back, 10 minutes before applying massage or manipulation. This has the
effect of not only relaxing the muscle but also helps reduce any inflammation
around the spine. Another example for knee problems is spraying 70 per
cent pain relieving spray and 30 per cent conditioning fluid on to a
client's knee, and then spraying 70 per cent conditioning fluid and
30 per cent pain relieving spray on to the surrounding muscles. This
has the effect of treating the immediate site of pain and possible inflammation
in the knee. It then relaxes the surrounding muscles to facilitate manipulation
of massage. These can be varied depending on the situation.
I will continue to use Kool 'n Fit at every opportunity possible. The
versatility of the products is amazing and I will continue to experiment
with them, as I feel there are still benefits and situations that I
have not discovered.

ROB EARLE is
a fitness consultant and sports therapist in Colchester, Essex. He is
masseur to the England decathlon and Olympic medal-winning British bobsleigh
teams, sports therapist to Woodford Green AC and Brightlingsea FC, a BAWLA
weight-training instructor and fitness assessor for Essex Fire & Rescue
Service. He is a former junior international hammer thrower and multi-county
champion.
He writes: “I have been using Kool ‘n Fit massage oil in my
practice for more than a year on a wide variety of sports people, including
the medal-winning performers at the 1998 Nagano Olympic Games and numerous
international athletes competing at the Commonwealth Games and I am convinced
that the ingredients are benficial to both client and therapist because
of its viscosity. I have to say that all previous oils used, this one
in particular has a natural blend which makes it client and user friendly.
It is versatile in that it can be used on a variety of skin types and
coverings without causing irritation and on skin that is particularly
hairy, of either the client or therapist. “I thoroughly recommend
its use either on its own or in conjunction with Kool ‘n Fit sport
conditioner for post-competitive massage and with Kool ‘n Fit pain
reliever in injury treatment using massage.” Rob Earle IPTI,
FA Diploma.

STUART
STANTON is a human performance engineer based in Huddersfield.
He writes: “I have been using Kool ‘n Fit both professionally
and personally since 1995. It was first recommended to me by a member
of the U.S women’s cycling team and the product has played an
increasingly influential role in my career. At present I am contracted
as physical therapist – human performance engineer – to
Wales students rugby league development squad, GB students rugby league
development squad, Wigton RU Club (Cumbria), Elland RLFC (West Yorks)
and the Canadian Rugby League. In addition, I work with a number of
athletes and weight-trainers on an individual basis.
Wales are the European champions at student level, GB are unbeaten at
development level, Elland are top of the Pennines League, Wigton feature
in the top four of their division and are well placed for progress into
the latter stages of the NPI Cup and a possible appearance at Twickenham
while Canada are scheduled to appear in the Emerging Nations World Championship
(Oct-Nov 2000). In all of these successful squads, the name Kool ‘n
Fit is respected and requested. Incidents of after-match strains and
aches have been dramatically reduced, player confidence has grown and
team results go from strength to strength.
“Personally, I have competed in running races of up to ten miles
with only a minimal amount of running training and found that a combination
of sport conditioner and pain reliever has enabled me to wake up ready
to go again the morning after each event. Things really do get better."

and sports-related subjects, based in Solihull, Warwickshire. Active
Associates also act as an agency, providing professional sports masseurs,
fitness trainers etc for events, TV and film location work, celebrity

There are more than 600 Active graduates working with organisations
as diverse as Premiership soccer clubs to Formula One Grand Prix racing
teams. Ann Baddeley writes in her newsletter:
"I recently had the chance to try out the Kool 'n Fit products,
especially the Kool 'n Fit sports conditioner and pain reliever. When
Anne Harwood first recommended this product to me, I was a bit sceptical
but I managed to persuade my 69-year-old Mum to try it to improve her
arthritis. The results were amazing. At the same time, my cycling-mad
husband was also testing the Kool 'n Fit range of products and had a
great result with the sports conditioner and massage oil. Unfortunately,
Rob's research was cut short when he had a nasty accident on his bike
and ended up with very little skin left on which to try the product.
I strongly recommend that you read the article Sport's Answer To Viagra."

ANNE
HARWOOD is a sports massage therapist who runs Muscles In Motion,
Blackburn. Mother of Dr Chris Harwood, lecturer in sports science at Loughborough
University, author and medical advisor to LTA. She writes: “I
was introduced to Kool ‘n Fit by way of a leaflet via a member of
my club, Blackburn Road Runners. I scanned it briefly, then popped it
into my glass fruit bowl along with other items not to be thrown away
but to be read later. A couple of weeks went by before I retrieved it
from the fruit bowl and thought ‘Yes, I will send for a couple of
bottles'. I duly rang the order through early Wednesday morning, not knowing
then how soon I was going to put its true potential to the test. Wednesday
evening was running club night and, as it was early summer, we were going
to run off-road, Pendle Hill, a six-miler of challenging terrain.
Unfortunately, I kicked up a loose stone about one mile from base and
went flying. I hobbled back, telling myself I would be fine in the morning.
But the next morning my hip was so stiff I had to come downstairs on my
bottom. I was wondering just how I was going to drive into town when,
hey presto, the doorbell rang – the Kool ‘n Fit had arrived.
I could not have tested it in better circumstances: I sprayed a liberal
amount of the pain reliever on to my hip and in 30 minutes the stiffness
had eased and I was able to walk up and down the stairs. I was really
impressed because it had worked phenomenally well for me. I have used
Kool ‘n Fit regularly on myself and my clients. “In
July at Eastbourne, I was sports therapist to the Leicestershire team
in the County Cup Tennis Championships – five days of gruelling
men’s and ladies’ doubles consisting of nine sets each day.
Kool ‘n Fit helped many a stiff serving arm and shoulder plus cramp
in the calf from playing on grass. I have no hesitation in recommending
Kool ‘n Fit products.”
